Second Week Reflection

Second Week{12/11/18 - 16/11/18}

There was assembly in the school on Monday and Thursday and on these days it was conducted by the students by rotation among them.  November 12th is celebrated as Salim Ali's Birthday.  He is considered as the "Bird man of India".  On the basis of this students had exhibited variety of knowledge regarding birds too.  I had my class hour on 4 period.  I went and taught them 5 lesson plan - which is the construction of trapezium with two sides and two angles.  I had shown them video of this construction too.  They got the idea of construction and practiced it.  I made them practice additional questions and started the next lesson plan.  I had collected notebook of students and corrected them.  Only few of them were having completed the notebook. On November 14, there was special assembly conducted by the student's on the basis of Children's Day.  Jayachandran sir had told students about Jawaharlal Nehru.  After the assembly, Simi miss had reached school, in order for the observation.  I had my class on 2nd period.  I was taking the topic "Construction of Quadrilateral with all 4 sides and an angle".  When I reached the class, only 13 students were there in the class.  Rest of the students had special class for "NMMS Scholarship ".  I had made them understand the topic by making them attain the idea that, to construct a quadrilateral, we not only need all four sides, but also an angle along with four sides.  This was done by using paper stick.  All of them were attentive and disciplined in the class.  So I could teach them.  At the time, when only 10 minutes were left, rest of the students came.  I once again, made the explanation and taught them again the steps.  After the class, teacher had told me to improve  my class.  I felt, all of the students understood the concept.  I had taught them the " Construction of Quadrilateral, when all four sides and a diagonal" are given.  I had made the steps of Construction in OHP sheet with the help of display stand, exhibited each step and students were interested to watch the way of exhibition and they really got the idea of construction.  They were able to construct the Quadrilateral in easy manner. 

Morning Assembly and Children's Day Special.





On this week, the class was little bit messy for me.  Some students were trying to distract others.  I felt, I need to improve my classroom. management.  Rest of the hours in this week, I was in writing my lesson plan record.  Before the start of this week, I had completed my scheduled topics, and on this week I was not able to teach them much, due to NMMS exam is to be held on Saturday.  So the students were having classes for practicing the previous year questions.  I had proved them learning experiences which are effective for the concerned topic.  Teaching aids were limited.  Because, construction needed only equipments in the instrument box. Out of 33 students only 7 students were left in the class.  So I just discussed the questions they were having doubts.If I compare my today's class with previous classes, I understood that, students whom I thought, they don't understand my way of teaching, where doing the work correctly.  Now I understood, they were just acting to be lazy, in order to make me irritated and not to continue the class section for escaping from class hours.  On this week I had taught them my innovative lesson plan -1 which is Construction of Quadrilaterals.  They were excited to learn it in a different manner and I could find they were able to understand the steps easily by this way of exhibition, and they remembered every step of construction and it was evident in their way of construction the additional questions.   And we were also assigned to help the students who were participating in NMMS and give them guidance to find the answeres of the questions in an easy way.  All my hours went in the discussion and  the problems were interesting.  The syllabus includes Science, Maths, Social Science, and Reasoning.  I was little upset, because I couldn't take my class.  I came to know that, next day also I am not going to get class due to the discussion on previous questions.  Hope that, next week on wards I get enough time to complete my lessons clearly.
