Third Week {19/11/18 - 24/11/18}
On the start of this week we had directly went to college for signing our records and handing the DD to College Office. After signing the record and charts, we were back to School at 10.15 am. On 19 November there was no class in the school due to Conscientization Programme on "Cancer and Different types of Drugs" for 8th and 9th Standard students of the school. The class was being taken by four teachers who were interested in teaching students about the ill effects of drugs and the causes of Cancer and types of Cancer. They presented paper presentation on the topic and conducted quiz programme on the topic concerned. The Programme lasted till 3 o'clock in the evening. So we the B.Ed Trainees were not able to teach the students any of the topics and we also attended the session. Headmaster of the school and other high school teachers who were presented on the day also attended the programme. HM had also delivered a speech on the topic. The programme was attended by 150 students of the school. The session was really interesting and informative. I taught the students additional questions of the Unit 'Construction of Quadrilaterals', which were left in the unit. I made them draw different patterns which are constructed by Rhombus, Parallelogram, Square, Rectangles.
Conscientization Programme


I took the rest of the problems. Some of the students were trying to make noise. I was compelled to warn them in order to keep silence. But they were in their own business and also disturbing the other students. So I punished them. For the first time, I had to take stick in my class and I felt bad for them. I couldn't control my anger on that time because of there irritative behaviour. I had arranged the extra class from 4 to 5 pm. I had a revision class on that time for the completed unit. I had started to take the next chapter. The lesson plan of this unit started with Inquiry Training Model. The next unit was "Ratio". They were interested in learning through the models of teaching. The class was active and they were interested in framing the questions. They were familiar with the model I taught. So it was easier for me to make orientation to the process. I had provided a followup activity, which actually analysed the level they understood the concept I taught. I had took my next lesson plan on the basis of Constructivist model of teaching. And on this week I was able to practice my explanation skill and stimulus variation. I think I had improved my explanation skill to some extend where, the students could catch the idea easily. I think, I need to consider the planning to complete the lessons before Christmas Exam. Due to holidays and other programmes on the school, most of our class hours were not taken. The experiences from the staff room also is better, I could find different variety of characteristics of teachers which should be adopted for better formation as a teacher.
