Fourth Week Reflection

Fourth Week{26/11/18 - 30/11/18}

     On behalf of Constitution Day Celebration, there was an oath by the students at 11 am on 26 November.  I started to teach them the continuation of the portion which I had left previous day.  I had taught them the different ways to solve multiple problems on the basis of the selected topics.  I had already informed them about the extra class, in order to ensure them with problem solving skills.  I taught them more questions which are having higher level of difficulty.  I started to teach them the next topic in the chapter, i.e. 'Changing Relations' on this week itself.  I could feel that, they were having difficulty in understanding the concept.  I had explained them everything repeatedly for making them understand the concept.

     We all are getting tired due to substitution classes in primary sections.  The classes were satisfying for me.  I found I need to have variety of strategies to make the students attentive to the class and same strategy is not applicable for every time.  We had our second observation class for our optional teacher, Simi Miss.  Simi miss reached the school at 10.15 am.  The observation class went smoothly.  I had took the 15th lesson plan for observation.  I took the third period for the class, the topic was 'Three Ratios".  I had provided group activity for the presentation section.  I introduced the way of writing three ratios and the application solving some problems in three ratios.  I think, I was able to manage the class well, but in some places, I lost the control of the class.  I was able to provide the concept clearly to students.  I felt, they understood the main theme which I intended to provide in the class.  I was satisfied of my class.  After the class, Miss told me to make changes in the lesson plan and need to be prepared for effectively using the extra minutes in the class without wasting the time.  Teacher also told me to be aware of making students to focus their attention in the presentations section.  And also, I shouldn't be concentrated on a single group, should be guiding each group.  I was happy, because, my observation class was satisfying and I was able to complete the portion needed for Christmas Exam.  I found the students were able to get the concept clearly, of this Chapter"Ratio".  And their doubts regarding to some sections were cleared also.  This week went fastly and I was able to complete my 15 lessons and need to conduct a test for the students on next week.  I found students were having not a good computation skill in higher values.  I think I need to improve my skills of stimulus variation.I need to manage my time, by considering their level of perception.
