Eighth Week Reflection

Eighth Week{31/12/18 - 05/01/19}

     After the Christmas vacation, most of the teacher were on leave.  I started to continue from where I left last class.  I made them do the problems in textbook.  After that I took the lesson plan on area of square.   It was in Inquiry Training Model.  The class went well and they were easily grasping the idea.  The problems were also easily solved by them.  So over all both the class went smoothly without any disturbance and stress.  I was able to identify that, the blackboard work had improved a lot and stimulus variation also had changed.  But need to think about Questioning skill.  I mostly avoid, the questioning section, just because, the class will be distracted on that time.  But need to consider that, for further improvement.  I had took the class on " Area of Rhombus".  The idea of forming equation was similar to the Area of square.  So it was helpful to conclude the idea.  

     They had worked out problems based on the concept taught.  I could practice questioning  skill today, because the idea was related to already learned ones.  But, the response from students were low.  I found, they were afraid to answer and had low confidence to respond in the class, when questioned.  I need to change such attitude of students for betterment.  I had worked out the problems related to Area of Rhombus and then started the next lesson plan on "Area of Isosceles Trapezium".  There was PTA Meeting on January 5, and on the same day itself I had done my second Innovative lesson on my class.  That is, " Area of Trapezium".  And students themselves formed the equation to find area of trapezium.  I could identify that, simpler way of teaching is more helpful for them to remember.  And I had take class for ninth standard students.  I went to the class on 2nd period and taught them the concept of "Prism" through concept attainment model.  They were easily getting the concept and responded well in the class.  The class was interesting and I made them to point out examples for prism.  And it was helpful for me to identify whether they understood the concept or not.  But the responses were good and correct to some extend.  

     




This week went as my planned schedule.  Only 2 more weeks were left to complete our teaching practice.  So all of them were completing their concerned works.  And I had found the difference in myself even in my way of talking.  The characters of each and every person in the staff room had influenced us.  The skills of teaching were considered while teaching the topics to students.  The performance of students in their Christmas exam was average only.  And the question paper didn't contained any of the topics which I had taught.  It was based on the sections took by our concerned teacher.
