Of the Same Substance: A Journey through Aneesh V's Thought - Provoking Exhibition


     On September 11, 2025, we visited "Of the Same Substance" - a solo exhibition by artist Aneesh V. at 8 Point Art Cafe in Asramam, Kollam.  What struck me immediately wasn't just the art on display, but the quiest question the exhibition poses: What connects us to nature, to each other, and to the world around us?

     Running from August 30 to September 15, 2025, this exhibition by the Assistant Professor of Visual Arts from Fathima Memorial Training College is a meditation on memory, nature, and the invisible threads that bind all living things.

     The exhibition opens with painting of people who the artist had already known and some of the painting where representing the real world things or the materials which we are used to.   Those paintings exhibited individually as well as they had been seen in another pictures which represent a whole new idea. Those minute observation of the artist can be seen through the painting.  

     The artist had explained to us, about when and where he had got the inspiration for each of those paintings and how they are combined to form a new idea and so on.  We were able to see the sketches of the artist which he had drawn in his travelling time or from the moment he got the inspiration.
