     The Centre for Teacher Education (CTE) is a specialised institution established under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) by the Ministry of Education (formerly MHRD), Government of India, aimed at strengthening in-service teacher education, professional development, and extension activities for teachers and teacher educators.  CTEs act as regional resource centres bridging schools, teacher training colleges, and higher education institutions.

     The Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE) is a premier teacher education institution established by upgrading selected CTEs under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the Ministry of Education (MHRD).  It functions as an apex centre for advanced studies, research, policy formulation, and innovation in teacher education at the state or regional level.

Objectives

  • To promote excellence and leadership in teacher education.
  • To offer advanced academic programmes such as M.Ed., M.Phil., and Ph.D.
  • To conduct research in teacher education and related areas.
  • To act as a resource and training centre for other CTEs and DIETs.
  • To develop innovative models of curriculum and pedagogy.

  • To act as a model institution for curriculum reform and professional excellence.
