"SAVE TREES, SAVE EARTH "

INTRODUCTION

As the part of our B. Ed curriculum we have to organize a conscientization programme.  Conscientization or critical conscious is a popular education and social concept developed by Brazilian pedagogue and educational theorist Paulo Freire.  It focuses  on achieving an independent understanding of the world,allowing for the perception and exposure of social and political contradictions.  It also includes taking action against the oppressive elements in one's life that are illuminated by that understanding. It is an individual activity. So I decided to conduct an awareness programme on the topic "SAVE TREES, SAVE EARTH". Now a days the students don't know the importance of trees in our life. Through this programme I want to make the student to protect "Trees". For this programme I selected the 8 B standard in Govt. H. S. Panayil.  The programme was conducted on 10 January, 2019.

NEED AND SIGNIFICANCE

     Trees are the important factor in the human life and also the earth. Today, the trees were cutting down for so many human activities. It makes deforestation. Through this activity we didn't got fresh air and rain. So we must understood the importance of green plants in our life. For making the students aware about the importance of preservation of trees for the survival of human beings, I decided to conduct the conscientization programme about this topic.

OBJECTIVES

* To impart knowledge about preservation of trees.
* To impart knowledge about the importance of trees.
* To provide knowledge about influence of trees in our life.
* To provide information about rules and regulations made by the Govt.
* To make them aware of the current situation of the Mother Earth.

PROGRAMME REPORT

     I organised an awareness programme on the topic "Save Tress, Save Earth". The programme was conducted on 10th January 2019. I selected 8 B standard students for the programme. The programme started with a power point presentation on the topic, which include the details of importance of trees in one's life, benefits of trees, effects of deforestation, the ways to preserve them.  It was an interactive section. The student interact well with my questions. They asked their doubts among the topic and  I clarify them properly.  The next section was video presentation.  I had provided maximum videos which make them think about the need of trees in our life.  Then I had conducted Poster making, Pencil Drawing, Slogan Writing, Essay Writing Competitions for the students on the basis of the topic.
                                          





 

CONCLUSION



                  I think the programme was effective.  I could create awareness among the students about the "Save Trees, Save Earth".  I could satisfied the objectives of the programme also.  I could take the class well and the students were active throughout the class.  They interestingly participate in every activity.
